Merry Mischief

News โ€” 25th Dec

Gather 'round, winter sprites.

As we join you in slipping into late December's torpor (cue that liminal stretch where we graze like indoor livestock and trade seasonal illnesses like Dickensian street urchins), we at NOMINT have been up to something...

You may remember last year's stop-motion Christmas special we made for the Kansas City Chiefs - A Kingdom Christmas Story: Hail Merry - that claymation wiggle of joy that somehow won us an Emmy.  (We know, we also thought we'd have calmed down about that by now, but, nope.  Absolutely not.)

Well...we made another one.  And we're pretty sure it's even better.

๐Ÿ”— Check out Merry Mischief, our brand new stop-motion Christmas film that premiered on Christmas Eve.

This baby was lovingly crafted by NOMINT director Dario Imbrogno and his indefatigable team of miniature-set sorcerers, who once again spent days on end communing with clay, wire, and probably whatever cosmic supervisor once managed Mork, because the rate at which these dynamos work is honestly not-of-this-earth. Production kicked off way back in September, and from story to set-building to three straight weeks of hand-animating on two miniature stages in Milan, Dario's studio basically turned into Santa's Workshop (or a mildly disturbing European craft cult, whichever).

And because we have no restraint, this year we also welcomed everyone's favourite festive cryptid, The Elf on the Shelf! And get this. The narrator? None other than Travis Kelce's actual mom, Donna. A woman whose voice could calm a stadium. I mean, if that doesn't just melt your face, what does? (Sentimentally melt. Not Raiders of the Lost Ark melt. Relax.)

So. Go getcher cocoa, pop on your fuzziest socks, relax into those elastic waistbands, and huddle in for a sneak peek of Merry Mischief.

Oh!  And lest we forget, we want to offer you NOMINT's most expansive seasonal greetings!  A Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, a Joyous Kwanzaa, a glowing Solstice, a brilliant Festivus, and any other winter ritual that brings you warmth, comfort, or at least plausible deniability.  We adore you.  And we can't wait to see you next year (erm, Happy New Year, too)!

With love and elastic waistbands,

Team NOMINT
